Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic therapy is a form of physical therapy that involves performing exercises and treatments in a heated pool to use the natural properties of water to assist in rehabilitation. It is used because the buoyancy, resistance, and warmth of the water can reduce stress on joints, improve balance and blood flow, decrease swelling and help relax injured muscles.

We offer aquatic therapy services in the comfort of our on-site rehabilitation pool, a 92-degree aquatic environment that includes handrails, resistance jets, and a deep water well for lumbar traction. Under the care of our licensed therapists, aqua therapy can facilitate exercises that might be difficult on land, making it ideal for patients with arthritis, injuries, or mobility issues. Most people find that by decreasing the amount of joint stress it is easier and less painful to perform the exercises in the aquatic environment.
